What is the Community Caring Resource Network?
Our Story
In 2023, Covenant Bible Institute launched a pilot program to explore and initiate an apartment chaplaincy ministry in partnership with Boulder Park Apartments, of University Place, WA.
The part-time registrar at CBS, John Golling, was hired to serve as the first “chaplain” or director of the pilot program. John and his wife Sandra have lived and served, in South Hill Puyallup for the last 23 years. John is working toward his Doctor of Ministry degree with the apartment chaplaincy as his culminating project.
The purpose of the program is: to serve the residents, management, and owners of Boulder Park Apartments by establishing a faith-based apartment chaplain position, and serve the students of CBI by providing ministry training opportunities.
We also hope to develop a model that can be adapted and contextualized for implementation in other apartment and multi-family communities around the region and country.
This website is intended to serve as an academic record of the research, strategic plans, action steps taken and evaluations of each phase of the project. Our hope is that by creating this real-time, online record, and invitation to participate, it will lead to increased collaboration, excellence, and eventual contribution to the field of people caring and the flourishing of our target community.
